Professor Kwon Se-won Receives Commendation from the Chairperson of the Financial Services Commission N

Professor Kwon Se-won of the Division of Business Administration, College of Business Administration, received a commendation from the Chairperson of the Financial Services Commission in recognition of her significant contributions to institutional improvement and development in the fields of certified public accountants, sustainability disclosure and assurance, corporate governance, and financial supervision (financial investment) through research and advisory activities.


Professor Kwon conducted research on improving the evaluation system and training content for apprentice certified public accountants, thereby advancing the CPA training system. She also analyzed the operational status of CPA apprenticeship institutions and proposed institutional improvement measures, contributing to the expansion of apprenticeship infrastructure and the establishment of directions for institutional reform. In addition, she contributed to the formulation of human resource development policies that reflect global trends and domestic conditions, and conducted research on strategies for nurturing, securing, and utilizing accounting professionals needed by companies, thereby helping to set directions for accounting professional development for accounting firms and corporations.


Furthermore, she contributed to the design and introduction of Korea’s sustainability assurance system by conducting research on sustainability-related assurance systems and analyzing the impact of adopting international sustainability assurance standards. She also carried out research on the supervisory system for sustainability disclosure, presenting directions for the introduction and operation of a domestic supervisory framework.


Professor Kwon served as an advisory committee member of the Financial Supervisory Service from 2024 to 2025, providing advice on major pending issues in the financial investment sector and contributing to the formulation of financial investment policies. She currently serves as Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Management and as the Chief Professor of Ewha Womans University’s Certified Public Accountant Program, where she operates programs and provides counseling and career guidance for students preparing for the CPA examination.
