Ewha Ranks Second in the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) for Private Universities

In the 2023 National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) survey conducted by the Korea Productivity Center, Ewha Womans University shared second place in the category of private universities in Korea. This marks a rise from third place in 2022, establishing Ewha as one of the top universities in student satisfaction.


The NCSI was developed to improve quality competitiveness for corporations and the quality of life for the general public, and is compiled by the Korea Productivity Center on an annual basis. The NCSI is a satisfaction index based on direct evaluations by customers with firsthand experience of a product or service, and is widely recognized for its representativeness and reliability.


In the 2023 survey, Ewha scored 80 points in total, tying for second place with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies after Sungkyunkwan University in first place. As such, Ewha maintained its place in the top echelon of the rankings, listing third place in 2019, second in 2020, third in 2021 and 2022, and second in 2023. In this year’s NCSI survey, individual interviews were conducted with 2,600 students studying in 13 private universities located in the Seoul metropolitan area. The rankings are determined by totaling the scores received in the categories of overall satisfaction with the university, satisfaction compared to expectations before admission, and satisfaction compared to ideal satisfaction with the university.


By category, Ewha scored the highest points in satisfaction compared to expectations before admission at 87 points, up 4.8 percent from last year. In addition, Ewha received higher points in customer loyalty meaning “I would choose Ewha Womans University again if I had a choice,” customer retention meaning “I want to keep attending this school,” overall satisfaction with the university, and actual satisfaction after admission.
