The Historic Exploration with the President Held

The 'Historic Exploration with the President', one of the initiating programs of 'Ewha Renaissance Project' was held on October 10th as president Lee Bae-Yong and 51 Ewha students visited Jongmyo, the ancestral shrine of the royal family.
President Lee, who is also a historian, gave lecture on the nature and wisdom of our ancestors and introduced our cultural heritage to students. "No matter how important economics and science has become in the modern society, we must not neglect but cherish our cultural heritage as we are descendents of great culture.", Lee said. She encouraged the students to become true global leaders who value our historic culture and be confident as Korean."
After the program, Lee said, "All students participated with deep interest as I explained hidden historic meanings of Jongmyo. Today, I saw the hope of our future in them" and expressed contentment.
Yoon Ah-Jung(Elementary Education 04), a student participant in the program said, "It was impressive that our president herself guided the tour and told us all the fascinating historical stories to us. This program aroused interest in our history and motivated me to study about our historical culture."
In addition to 'Historic Exploration with the President', more of Ewha's educational programs are scheduled. 'Ewha-Wellesley Global Leadership Conference', a conference under partnership of Ewha and Wellesley College and 'Ewha MunHyang Lecture Series', a lecture program taught by professors of Ewha Academy for Advanced Studies, will be held to foster the next generation of global leaders.
