Ewha Womans University Museum was selected as the "Excellent Exhibition" of the "University Museum Support Project" for its 134th Anniversary commemorative exhibition <Scenes from 19th Century Joseon>.

The "University Museum Support Project" is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Association of University Museums. Ewha Womans University Museum has been selected for the project for three consecutive years. The special exhibition, <Scenes from 19th Century Joseon>, was prepared as part of the museum's "Culture Connector Project II."

In the online presentation held on Dec. 29, Ewha Womans University Museum introduced several factors that led to the successful exhibition in the middle of social distancing due to the pandemic. The special exhibition <Scenes from 19th Century Joseon> received high praise as it actively took the lead on contactless exhibition culture. Also, with collaboration with EUBS(Ewha University Broadcasting System), the museum carried out 'Curator's Voice: About Our Exhibition' project. The project was praised as students' participation showed the advantages of a university museum. The museum also showed a special section called "The 19th-century relics are alive!" which allows spectators to experience exhibition artifacts vividly using AR technology. The museum was highly acclaimed not only for its online communication and technical skills but also for helping spectators, who actually visited the museum in the middle of the pandemic, understand the exhibition.

Ewha Womans University Museum has strived to hold on to the Spirit of Ewha and promote Korean culture excellence despite difficult situations. The museum will continue its activities in 2021 as a cultural connector for students in Ewha and local communities.
