AI가 바꾸는 새로운 의료의 혁신적 패러다임
본교 의료원 이화의생명연구원(연구원장 이향운)은 2월 7일(토) 이대목동병원 10층 대강당에서 <2026 Medical AI 혁신을 한 번에 마스터하는 메디컬 AI 워크숍(Medical AI Workshop)>을 성황리에 개최했다. 이번 워크숍에서는 급변하는 의료 환경 속에서 인공지능(AI) 기술을 임상과 연구에 효율적으로 접목하는 전략과 사례를 중심으로 다양한 방안을 논의했다. 의학·인공지능·공학 분야 연구자와 바이오헬스 산업 관계자 120여명이 참석한 가운데 성황리에 진행되었다.
이번 워크숍은 유경하 의무부총장 겸 의료원장, 강덕희 의과대학장, 이향운 의무산학부단장 겸 이화의생명연구원장, 양대헌 정보통신처장 등 주요 보직자와 의료 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 이향운 의무산학부단장 겸 이화의생명연구원장이 좌장을 맡아 진행됐다.

워크숍은 본교 양대헌 정보통신처장 겸 BK21 TRUE-AI 연구단장의 기조강연으로 시작됐다. 양 처장은 ‘Ewha TRUE-AI: 고신뢰·고효율 AI 기술 연구단 소개’를 통해 본교가 추진 중인 AI 연구 전략과 본교 인공지능대학과 의과대학 및 이화의료원간의 협업 방향을 제시했다.

이어지는 세션에서는 김동현 뉴로핏 대표가 ‘의료기기 개발 관점에서의 AI 기반 뇌 영상 분석 도구 개발’에 대해 발표했으며, 권준명 메디컬AI 대표는 ‘심전도 기반 AI 최신 지견과 임상 적용 사례’를 주제로 초청 강연을 진행해 의료 연계 기업들의 산업 현장에서의 인공지능 기술 최신지견에 대한 현황을 공유하여, 워크숍 참가자들의 실무 이해를 도왔다.

오전 프로그램의 마지막 스페셜 세션은 ‘의료 인공지능 관련 국가 R&D 정책 및 연구 동향’을 주제로 진행됐다. 한승호 의학과 교수 겸 이화의료아카데미 원장이 좌장을 맡아 최광남 KISTI 초거대 AI 연구센터 박사가 ‘임상 AI 2026’을, 장광선 박사가 ‘생성형 AI를 활용한 연구 및 업무 효율화 방안’에 대해 발표하며 활발한 토론을 이끌어, 임상 현장에서의 AI 활용 방안, 실제 적용 시 기대 효과와 도전 과제에 대해 의견을 나누며 학제간 협력의 중요성에 대해 참석자들의 공감대를 형성했다.

이어진 오후 첫 번째 세션에서는 조도상 의학과 교수 겸 이화의료데이터사업단장이 진행을 맡아 ‘의료 데이터 구축과 연구역량 강화’를 주제로 ▲생성형 인공지능의 의료 활용(연세의대 신경외과 김휘영 교수) ▲LLM 기반 진단서 작성 Tool(이화의대 감염내과 전강일 교수) ▲디지털헬스 혁신을 위한 데이터 플랫폼(연세의대 융합의학과 유승찬 교수) ▲개별 연구자의 의료 디지털 접근과 연구 역량 강화(이화의대 순환기내과 박준범 교수) 등의 강의가 이어져 실질적인 데이터 실질적인 연구 능력 향상 방안을 공유했다.
오후 두 번째 세션에서는 박준범 의학과 교수 겸 이대목동병원 융합의학연구원장이 좌장을 맡아 ‘따라만 하면 내것이 되는 AI로 논문 쓰기 A to Z’를 주제로 ▲ChatGPT / Gemini 이용 의학통계 분석(이화의대 비뇨의학과 고영휘 교수) ▲ChatGPT / Gemini 기반 통계결과의 신뢰성과 해석의 주의점(이대목동병원 임상시험센터 유승찬 교수) ▲인공지능 원리에 기반한 AI Tool을 활용한 논문 작성(이대목동병원 융합의학연구원 정승필 교수) 등 강의로 워크숍은 성황리에 마무리됐다.
유경하 이화의료원장은 “의료는 물론 전 사회 분야에서 AI를 활용하는 분야가 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 이화의료원은 진료 편의를 위한 AI 활용을 통해 ‘AI와 사람의 협력으로 완성되는 환자 중심 의료’를 실현해 인공지능의 최신 트렌드를 선도해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.
이향운 이화의생명연구원장은 “급변하는 의료 환경 속에서 AI는 이제 선택이 아닌 필수가 되었다”라며 “이번 워크숍을 통해 인공지능을 활용한 정부 정책 및 연구 동향을 파악할 수 있었고 실제 임상에서 적용 사례 등 폭넓은정보를 공유한 유익한 자리였다”고 강조했다.

A New Paradigm of Innovation in Healthcare Transformed by AI
The Ewha Institute for Life Science of the Ewha Medical Center atEwha Womans University(Director: Lee, Hyang-woon) successfully held the “2026 Medical AI Workshop: Mastering Medical AI Innovation at Once” on Saturday, February 7, at the Auditorium on the 10th floor ofEwha Womans University Mokdong Hospital. The workshop explored strategies and case studies for effectively integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into clinical practice and research amid the rapidly evolving medical environment. Approximately 120 researchers in medicine, AI, and engineering, along with professionals from the biohealth industry, attended the event.
The workshop was presided over by Lee, Hyang-woon, Vice President for Medical Industry-Academic Cooperation and Director of the Ewha Institute for Life Science. Attendees included Yoo, Kyung-ha, Vice President for Medical Affairs and President of the Ewha Medical Center; Kang, Deok-hee, Dean of the College of Medicine; Lee, Hyang-woon; and Yang, Dae-heon, Chief Information Officer, among other key officials and medical professionals.

The program began with a keynote lecture by Yang, Dae-heon, Chief Information Officer and Head of the BK21 TRUE-AI Research Group. In his presentation, “Ewha TRUE-AI: Introduction to the High-Reliability and High-Efficiency AI Research Group,” he outlined the University’s AI research strategy and proposed directions for collaboration among the College of Artificial Intelligence, the College of Medicine, and the Ewha Medical Center.

In the subsequent session, Kim, Dong-hyun, CEO of Neuro핏 Co., Ltd., presented on “Development of AI-Based Brain Imaging Analysis Tools from a Medical Device Development Perspective.” Kwon, Jun-myung, CEO of Medical AI Co., Ltd., delivered an invited lecture on “Latest Developments and Clinical Applications of ECG-Based AI,” sharing up-to-date insights from industry practice and enhancing participants’ practical understanding.

The final special session of the morning program addressed “National R&D Policies and Research Trends in Medical Artificial Intelligence.” Chaired by Professor Han, Seung-ho, Professor of Medicine and Director of Ewha Medical Academy, the session featured Dr. Choi, Kwang-nam of the Supercomputing AI Research Center at theKorea Institute of Science and Technology Information, who presented on “Clinical AI 2026,” and Dr. Jang, Kwang-seon, who discussed “Enhancing Research and Work Efficiency Using Generative AI.” The session fostered active discussion on practical applications of AI in clinical settings, expected benefits, challenges, and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration.

The first afternoon session, moderated by Professor Cho, Do-sang, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Ewha Medical Data Business Group, focused on “Building Medical Data Infrastructure and Strengthening Research Capacity.” Presentations included: “Medical Applications of Generative AI” by Professor Kim, Hwi-young (Department of Neurosurgery, Yonsei University College of Medicine); “LLM-Based Diagnostic Report Writing Tool” by Professor Jeon, Kang-il (Division of Infectious Diseases, Ewha College of Medicine); “Data Platforms for Digital Health Innovation” by Professor Yoo, Seung-chan (Department of Integrative Medicine, Yonsei University College of Medicine); and “Enhancing Individual Researchers’ Digital Access and Research Competency” by Professor Park, Jun-beom (Division of Cardiology, Ewha College of Medicine). These lectures shared practical approaches to strengthening research capabilities through effective data utilization.
The second afternoon session, chaired by Professor Park, Jun-beom, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Institute for Convergence Medicine at Ewha Mokdong Hospital, was titled “From A to Z: Writing Academic Papers with AI.” Lectures included: “Medical Statistical Analysis Using ChatGPT / Gemini” by Professor Ko, Young-hwi (Department of Urology, Ewha College of Medicine); “Reliability and Interpretation Considerations of Statistical Results Using ChatGPT / Gemini” by Professor Yoo, Seung-chan (Clinical Trial Center, Ewha Mokdong Hospital); and “Academic Writing Using AI Tools Based on AI Principles” by Professor Jung, Seung-pil (Institute for Convergence Medicine, Ewha Mokdong Hospital). The workshop concluded successfully.
Yoo, Kyung-ha, President of the Ewha Medical Center, stated, “The use of AI is rapidly expanding across healthcare and all sectors of society. Ewha Medical Center will lead the latest AI trends by realizing patient-centered healthcare completed through collaboration between AI and people, utilizing AI to enhance clinical convenience.”
Lee, Hyang-woon, Director of the Ewha Institute for Life Science, emphasized, “In the rapidly changing medical environment, AI is no longer optional but essential. This workshop provided a valuable opportunity to understand government policies and research trends related to AI and to share a wide range of information, including practical clinical applications.”
